I got saved at Beacon Light when I was 10 years old. When I did, I did it for show because I was sitting with my friend and when she went up, I went up with her. After that, I was still the same person, I was disobeying my parents, I was sneaky, and I used to go to places that I shouldn't have went to. When I used to go to school, I used to fail the easy classes, even though I used pass the first marking period. I was goofin off and being very rebellious. One day after school, I was sitting around with my mother and she was reading her bible and something popped in my head. I asked her how do you know that you're saved? She told me that you know you're saved when you do something wrong and something inside you tells you that you're wrong. She also said that when you're sitting around and you hear these little voices telling you to do the right thing, it's not just your conscience, but it's God telling to you to stop showing off and do the right thing. She told me to go upstairs and pray that night. But, before I prayed, I asked her about restoration and how did that work. She told me that I had to get myself together before I went up on Sunday for restoration. She told me that I had to read my bible, pray at night, and always ask for forgiveness when I do something wrong. So that Sunday at church, I went up for restoration and the decision counselor, Myra Harris, asked me what I came up for and I told her. She gave me a booklet about new Christians and told me to read it and she also gave me a daily bread devotion. After that we closed out in prayer. Since I've been saved, I found out that God forgave me for all the bad things that I did in the past.
