Name: May Johnson Article: Do You Really Know God Author: Jah Word
I’m convinced that many professing to be Christians really don’t know God. Of course you know of Him, but do you know Him personally? These are some thoughts from a Gospel Flava article that I read. Jah Word mentioned that many of us might even help pass out salvation tracks and also help feed the homeless. Just like Samuel, in many other ways, youth try to give their service to God by wearing crosses, scripture shirts, WWJD bracelets, and singing in the choir. Despite this outward show, many of us still do not yet know the Lord. The question is, “How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart, man speaks.” So what is your heart filled with?” And they also said, “I realize that you heard all the wonderful things others had said about God and you have also heard the songs, but how well do you know Him for yourself?
After reading this article, I learned that everybody who thinks they know, sometimes don’t even really know God for themselves. They think they know Him because they attend church and are part of the church, but that don’t mean you really know who He is. For example, when we think of ministering, we vision a pastor, teacher, or evangelist; however, Samuel was neither. In fact, he was just a young boy. And like many of us, from his birth, Samuel had been dedicated to the Lord and grew up in the church. Now the question is, do you really know God?
I believe this article can help other youth by letting them know that there are a lot of people out here who think they might know who God is, but they really don’t. And if any youth don’t know Him, take time out to know Him. Go to bible study so you can learn about God and His plan for your life. Take it from me; He is a wonderful Father to know and to have in your life.
