Pagbahin sa Kinabuhi

(Sharing Life)

August 2010

Sharing the Message, Transforming Hope, and Love of Jesus

This is an experiential intercultural youth ministry, planned to accomplish these goals:

1. Inspire youth who follow Jesus to share their transformation experiences

2. Experiential learning:  Planning, Fundraising, Team Development, Public Presentation - in a setting of group ministry and Christian mentors

3. Personal Enrichment – Deepen our spiritual life in Jesus Christ, self-denial, serving others, vision enrichment, learning from Indigenous history & culture

 * Passports are required; Minors need notarized permission form to travel abroad

*North America Team arrives Manila, meets with "Jesus Christ Lord of Tribes & Nations Church" youth group. Teams honor each other in a 1 session orientation, overnight hosting (somewhere)

Next day - flight to Davao.
First week
arrive from Manila by plane to Davao area; the main event: hiking & camping adventure,  Each member can plan to tell about their life and be ready to learn about the tribal peoples’ needs, and offer help as we are able.

Second week,  Team bus/van trip to across Mindanao from
Davao to Cagayan de Oro, hosted by local Youth ministries and churches.  We will be partnering with local boys' & girls' discipleship ministries. Rhyan Casiño will be coordinating training for cultural awareness and presentation and story telling as part of our experience. We may be able to help with feeding programs, and regional outreaches, putting our training into practice.

Third week  (travel by air or if possible by ocean ship)  We will be traveling out with selected Cagayan youth to
Manila, (possibly visit a Church and spend one night); then take a bus/van to La Union, 6+ hours northern Luzon. We will host and share in local presentations, and probably make trips out to Baguio City & regional presentations. If time and finances allow, make a trip to the Agta people in the Bolos area.

Young adults Discipling others in Cagayan de Oro

We were blessed to visit with young people who are growing in Christ and winning other souls on the streets of Cagayan de Oro. They are growing and committed.  These are just a few of the guys we met, part a larger group who have regular Bible studies, meeting with Pastor Faith Belane in cell groups.

Did you know? The 7100 Philippine Islands are home to over 100 Indigenous people groups! Some of these have well established indigenous Christian ministry; but many of the tribes have no Christian witness or even a Bible.

God is transforming Youth raising up LEADERS in the Philippines!

Last April:  Overflowing the small church, a tent extension was put up outside, and the "Encountering God Retreat" was a 3 day special blessing!  230 youth and others came together about 50 km in the mountains from Cagayan de Oro.

Special honors and greeting messages were shared by Peter (Tlí Cho) from Canada Noe (Mixteco) from Mexico, affirming Native Peoples' role in the Great Commission. At the end, we sang together in huddles, and noone wanted to leave, but back down the mountain in Military Trucks we had to travel, still singing the rain!
