Welcome to Wildside
Steve Schmidt, Jr. High Director

Jr. High and life in general is a lot like a road trip. You journey through it trying to get to some sort of final destination. Unfortunately most people don't know where they are going or why they exist. In fact the Bible tells us that most people are on the wrong road all together. It is our desire to direct  Jr. High students in our community down the right road. We want to fill the narrow road with students who are discovering who they are in Christ and fulfilling the purposes they were created for. Wildside exists to passionately enable students to grow in Christ, reach their friends, and serve just like Jesus.

Everybody is at a different place in his or her journey and we will do all that we can to encourage students to take the next step to grow in character and spiritual maturity. We work hard to keep students moving foward. We do this in lots of ways: weekend worship experiences (FUEL), mid-week small groups (Wild Truth Groups), regular outreach ministry (Mania), student leadership opportunities (CREW Servant Team), camps, mission trips and other activities are all part of the effort to help students follow God. At Wildside, students will be exposed to and experience God's incredible love for them in a way that is real, relevant, relaxed and relational. Our team is committed to making the church experience a good one!

Sunday mornings are awesome for Jr. High students at FBC. It's called FUEL. This is a perfect opportunity to meet new friends and FUEL up with what we need as Christians to fast forward through each week. We have a blast playing outrageous mixers, worshipping God, lifting each other up in prayer and studying and applying God's word to our own lives. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30am in the Junior high room (E-108).

Got the nerve to serve?

We have the opportunity to serve meals to the homeless of Sacramento at the Union Gospel Mission. We do this on the second Wednesday of each month from  6:30-9:45pm.  For more information contact Steve Schmidt.

Serve at The Meadows-

The Meadows is an "Active Senior Living" residential facility here in Elk Grove.  We serve the residents every other month by leading worship and sharing God's word and love with them.  It's a great way for you to get out of your comfort zone by hanging out and serving some very kind people who may not get to go to church on a regular basis. Check the calendar for dates. Ask Johanna for more details jmimbs@fbceg.org

Mania Spring 08' kicked off this last Friday. With special events like Parent Teen banquet the Mania schedule is a little weird this spring so be sure to check out the calender. February 8th is "Pound Your Parents" nights so be sure to bring a parent
