East White Oak Youth Ministries

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by today! We hope you'll find the information that you are looking for and more.

Most of all though, we hope that you will find a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That's really what we are all about.

Our mission as a youth ministry is to help each student know Christ, grow it their relationship with Him, and then to show Christ in our lives and to others.

We accomplish this mission through a variety of different methods, but most of all we want to join God in what he is doing in our church, our community and in the world.

We hope you'll join us soon!

Serving Christ,

Pastor Walt Baertsch & Pastor Kendall Coffman

How to Volunteer with EWO Youth Ministries

If you are interested in volunteering with EWO Youth Ministries, we have a series of steps through which you will need to go:
Fill out a Confidential EWO Volunteer application - Note: All volunteers working with youth or children need to go through a background check process for the safety and protection of our students.
Arrange to meet for a personal interview with Pastor Walt where we will explore ministry opportunities which are currently available and may fit with your gifting from God.
Pastor Walt will arrange for you to visit the area of ministry in which you are interested just to make sure you really want to serve in this area.
You become one of our official youth ministry volunteers! Congratulations!
You may pick up a Volunteer Application in the church office at any time. Or you can also click HERE to get one. If you have any questions, please feel free to give Pastor Walt a call or an e-mail!
Thanks for your interest!...more

The Point - by Blake Huber

Walt's comments:
This was written by Blake Huber, one of our Sr High small group leaders.  He loves his small group and the rest of you and asked if I could share this with all of you somehow.  It was too long for Facebook Messaging, so I thought I'd post it here and you could all check it out.
Pastor Walt

Blake's comments start here:
This is something the Lord has laid on me, I think. I need all of you guys' help in getting this out to all the EWO people, because I can't tag everyone!
Missing the Point
The best small group in the world met Monday to mull over a handful of verses about what lies at the heart and soul of Christianity. It is tragic that so many Christians are seemingly missing the point of the Christian faith, and I am deeply concerned that people I care very much about (EWO!) would be among them. I have no definitive idea if I was truly a Christian in high school, but I do place myself in the “Missing the Point” category. I had this attitude toward God like, “I give you my life, I’ll take salvation, and we’ll throw in some church on Sunday.” Sure, I wore church t-shirts and went to youth group and attended conventions, but something was very wrong and I knew it. I’ve come to find out that knowing Christ is just what it...more
